Its interior features gear pockets to stow headlamps, smartphones, or other smaller pieces of gear.It also has an extended awning that helps prevent rain from getting inside and creates a sort of staging area for getting in or out of the tent. The actual design of the tent differs from the others in our guide in that it's shaped like a tunnel, and less like dome. One of the most important qualities of any type of camping gear is its durability. It also helps keep rain from dripping down the sides and into the tent. As camping continues to grow in popularity, the methods by which people enjoy the activity has steadily evolved. The best ones feature a sewn-in floor, plenty of headroom, and take only a few minutes to pitch with one or two people. They're compatible with standard, compact, and extended truck beds. Sleeps two people that are fond of each other... Sleeps two people that are fond of.." - by Nathan. The first time you set it up it is a bit confusing but after that it is smooth sailing. This tent fit perfect in the back of our Toyota Tundra Crew Max. My main complaint (and the reason for a loss of a star) is that the supplied 3" C-clamps would not fit my truck due to the versa-track system. As far as fitment, no problems and very spacious as described. It'll be quicker next time for sure..I got some masking tape..made a small flag on each pole (after the tent was up) and wrote the letters A through F on them which corresponded to the pic shown in the directions. Purchased the full size version for my '12 Tundra Crewmax (5.5' bed) with Snug-Top Rebel. "Good tent not in the rain." - by Scott. Be gentle setting the poles into theirfull review. Be very careful to insure that none of the sleeves are snagged on the poles before you set the poles into place. 3. The fiberglass poles' metal joint sleeves snag on the tent pole sleeves when you are putting the poles in place.
I purchased this to mate up with the Napier truck tent. It fits my 11' Chev 2500HD with a standard bed (6.5' length) just right. Cons: There are only two windows for ventilation. To determine length just extend on the ground and then place in tent slips. Setup was very easy, simple instructions. I used this tent for a lakeside fishing/camping trip. Edit: the tent has seen rain. However, everywhere we have it set up, people are constantly asking about it. We have had many people take pictures. The tent is incredibly easy to use. People will ask about your tent!" - by GrzzManBill (GRAHAM, WA, US) Fits my 95 Ford F150 short bed very nicely. Other campers on the ground ended up with soaked gear, it's nice being high and dry. Absolutely love it. Fits a 2015 Toyota Tacoma access cab with the six foot bed.You need to insure that this black pole pushes down between the bed of your truck and the cab. 5.0 out of 5 stars Best truck tent for the money! Also in the photo you will see the PV 203C air bed which fits the Colorado in canyon absolutely perfectly. One time use perhaps, Otherwise I do not recommend this product. Good cross ventilation.Breaks down easy and compact. Pros - easy to set up.Secure. 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up and secure. The tent does not breath moisture out and you will wake up with inside tent roof wet which in turns drips onto your bedding. Could not close the door with zipper because green door pole shattered due to the pole being a little too long causing excessive stress on it. Can not close windows or door of the tent to retain heat if it is really cold outside. Maybe next time I'll leave the rainfly off. Setup Instructions: Grey poles form an X on the top outer roof. Setup was hard at first but 2nd time around was a lot easier. I put this on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma Long Bed and it truly fits like a glove! If you plan to use this tent for 2 people, You need to SPOON. Allow you to sleep in the tent. I use a piece of wafer board under the tent to protect my back from the ridges of the bed of my pickup, then add a foton matress inside tent once erected (air matresses lose air as it cools at night). I did not want to hook the straps to the truck so i bought rope and some tie down stakes and just staked them to the ground. (Just slightly less than "like a glove" :)) we went camping on an incredibly warm and windy night and this tent never moved, but the sides and door area allowed ample wind flow to keep us cool. UPDATE: We've now had this tent for three years and have used it numerous times. Interior storage pockets flank either side of the tent and are good for storing smaller gear like smartphones or headlamps. Its interior is noticeably smaller than other picks on this list, but Rightline Gear does a good job with the design to make it feel roomier. The tent is constructed of water-resistant fabric with fully-taped seams, making it viable in both warm weather or rain. You don't want to be stuck pitching a large tent on a short truck. The best for smaller truck beds. For $270, the Sportz is well worth the investment for anyone who camps in areas with frequent rain, or who enjoys camping in either spring or fall.
Its tape-seamed rainfly and nylon exterior work well in keeping moisture like rain or condensation out, yet still provide enough ventilation to keep it from getting too stuffy. Featuring a nylon exterior, tape-seamed rainfly, and a huge extended awning, this tent offers plenty of protection from inclement weather. Camping in the rain doesn't have to be a miserable experience, so long as you're prepared. The inside offers 5.5 feet of headspace and is just over 5 feet wide, which is perfect for two people, as well as a dog. If weather doesn't cooperate, it features a waterproof 2,000-millimeter polyester exterior cover, as well as a 4,000-millimeter waterproof groundsheet. The windows feature a zip-off cover for added privacy but also provide ample ventilation and airflow. What makes it a compelling summer tent are its large mesh windows and its nearly 4-foot extended awning. Camping is a year-round activity but most people prefer to enjoy it in the summer when it's warmer and when there isn't much risk of waking up cold or wet. We brought along a sleeping bag to help with this. |
